So, watching my super list of games, it seems I played 60 games this year, but I might have forgot some in the process, 'cause I'm that awesome. I decided I'd show the list on here and do a quick summary for each game, like what's my opinion on it and/or why I never finished it (there's quite a few of those, oops)
First, the games I shall play forever (because they don't have an end, obviously):
Ad Infinitum
Look how happy he seems to see you! He'll puke on you from happiness! (From KF) |
Killing Floor: This game is a must during the holidays, anyway for me and my sisters and brother. There's nothing like killing gingerbreads and reindeers to help you get in the spirit. There's always special events during halloween, christmas, and summer if I remember correctly, and it's like always on sale on Steam. I think my 10 bucks was well invested in the 100+ hours I played.
The Sims 3: That fucking game caused the loss of my EHD, and yet I still play to it. Fortunately I was able to fix the problem, and haven't had any issues with it ever since. People who don't like this game obviously never tried to create generations of sims starting from a gay immortal witch billionaire and a robot. It makes things interesting.
Vindictus: The first MMORPG I ever played that I actually enjoyed. It's Korean, so maybe that's why. There's actually a more or less interesting story throughout the quests, but what I really enjoy is my super powers as a Evie, the magician class.
The Elder Scrolls V : Skyrim : I played a lot less this year because I had some problems with the game and the mods I was using, and hadn't felt like playing around to try to fix it (yet), but I did play a lot at the beginning of the year. The Dragonborn DLC is realy worth playing, that's all I'm saying (if you haven't played already).
Terraria: One of the games I played the most this year, before and after they released the 1.2 Update. Seriously, this game is nothing like Minecraft, if people still think that.
DC Universe Online: Second MMORPG I really like, and kept playing for a while. Me and my friends lost interest for some other games, but I feel like we could do an allnighter any time for this one. Seriously, who never dreamt of being a superhero (or SUPERVILLAIN!) and kicking some people's ass. You can choose whatever you want to be, and changing your outfit is FREE. I think I'm the most annoying one about that because I tend to change outfits in the middle of a quest haha. XD (BTW, I tried playing Marvel Heroes, and ugh, it's a no-no for me. DCUO all the way!)
Minecraft: I think pretty much everyone knows what's Minecraft is about, and I also thought that I wouldn't be interesting until I actually tried to play. Well, I attempted once last year, killed a cow, and then grew bored, and then I retried in March or something and completely got addicted to it. We're currently trying to recreate Rapture, but... well, wish us good luck.
No More Room In Hell: A really nice (but buggy) game about killing lots of zombies, it's actually nominated to win a Mod of the Year award (from Half-Life 2), how cool is that for a free game!
Rift: Third MMORPG I didn't stop playing, I really like the whole concept of rifts opening and players having to fight aliens or whatever to close them. It's actually the only MMORPG I don't care to play alone, because I get bored with the other ones.
Star Wars: The Old Republic: I'm not sure I should place it in this category, as we haven't played since this summer I think, but oh well. It's not a bad MMORPG, combats with laser saber are cool, but I don't know, we lost interest a bit after a week or so.
Gary's Mod: I recently bought the game during the holidays sales, and it seems like a game with a huge community behind it, with lots of mods like Prophunt, so I'm sure I won't get bored anytime soon!
Starbound: This game isn't even out of Alpha yet (they're still at the Angry Koalas phase), and already it's really promising. It looks like Terraria meets Spore, in the way it's a 2D exploration game, but you can explore whole galaxies (and the creatures are freaky like in Spore, let's face it). They keep adding huge features with each update, so I can't wait to see what will be the final product.
Mario Portal: A fast mention of this game, because I put it there as a joke, but well, it's really fun to play in coop, and I definitely could play again.
Games I actually finished

The Walking Dead: I won't say much, because I already made a review on this game, but epic game is EPIC. I played twice to see how much my actions would influence on the game.
Metro 2033: A game I first didn't like but fell in love with after I continued playing. It's based on the book of the same name, by Dmitry Glukhovsky, and I actually began to read it. It's a really interesting and complex universe, and on the same level as Fallout in the way that it's a vision of what could happen if there ever was a nuclear war, not only what would be the Earth after, but also how could people evolve.
Dragon Age: Origins - Ultimate Edition: I also made a review on this game, so you probably know my adoration for this serie. The release date of DAI is getting closer and closer now!!
Resident Evil 6: Yup, I made a review about this game too, surprise surprise.
DMC: Devil May Cry : HEY, I made a review on this game too! I really enjoyed it, but didn't play the DLC yet, oops.
Dragon Age II: As I played four times this game, you can probably guess I like it as much, if even more, as the first opus. Fenris will always be in my heart, and the whole freaking universe of that serie. BTW, if you never watched the short video on Fenris being chased by some people, I suggest you do!
Tomb Raider: I played and loved this game right after its release, in the first half of 2013, and I plan on replaying it again soon. I felt like they could have exploited more the survival aspect of the game, but other than that, I'm quite satisfied.
Bioshock Infinite: Ahhh, love this game. As you might expect, I reviewed it as well. Some people complained about the Burial at Sea DLC, but the first episode was epic for me, and I think episode 2 will be as well!
Vampires: The Masquerade - Bloodlines: Review here, 'cause six PTs mean I freaking love this game. Some say a MMORPG based on its universe, World of Darkness, and should be released in 2015 or so. I'd be willing to pay for a MMORPG if this was to happen!
Far Cry 3: The gameplay was perfect, the plot sucks, and the ending.... I don't even know what to say about it. I never imagined I would bang a chick in First-Person POV in a game, like, EVER, but then it happened. And the protagonist's voice sounded like he was 12. That made the whole experience even more traumatizing. I can't believe Canadians made this game, the same ones who made Prince of Persia... And I have to add the antagonist was more interesting than the protagonist and I was sad when I killed him.
Dracula: Origin: For a game I never heard about before, this point-and-click was really nice to play and a lot more gore than what I thought it would be, but what would you expect with a Dracula-based game. It made me love it even more. Sadly, its sequel is fucking ridiculous and not a PnC.
Remember Me: I really enjoyed the music of that game, that's for sure, and the gameplay with the fact you could manipulate people's memory, but the plot was a bit... err... bad I guess? It really was too cliché that the protagonist's enemies was in fact her parents, it could have been something more original, especially with the way everything else was avant-garde and super creative.
Cry of Fear: Indeed I screamed like a little girl while playing this game, but I really enjoyed it (not alone, though, never alone).
Fallout New Vegas : I actually finished my second PT two days ago, because I had incompatibility issues from the start because of some mods. It kept crashing during loading screens and would take up to three times to launch without freezing. I still managed to finish it by siding with the NCR and I could hear the famous "Because war... war never changes." Fallout 4 release date in 2014, pretty please?! And, btw, the DLCs are so, so, so worth playing, they're awesome! I really enjoyed playing them!
Dead Space 3 : This opus is a lot less scary than the first one, especially since I played with my brother. I liked the way you could customize your weapons, but the plot was a bit off in my opinion, how Clarke reacted to some stuff. I know he witnessed a lot already, but still, he seems insensitive and a bit off, even if he does the right thing in the end.
Botanicula: A really cute indie game I enjoyed playing. It's not that long, but it's still worth playing, because of how unique it is.
The Stanley Parable: I did it as many times as I could manage, and it drove me mad haha. XD I really liked the gameception, if I can say it like this, the illusion of freedom and choice when there is none.
Heavy Rain: I played this game so much, I tried to complete it at 100% this summer, and I think I only needed two achievements or something. Sadly I don't own a PS3, and only had my parents' for a couple of weeks. I'd love to play Beyond Two Souls, maybe I'll be able to do so one day (and cry my eyes out)!

Dead Space: This game is really scary, and last time I played I was stuck in a room with some invincible monster.
Metro Last Light: I'm almost at the end of it, but I'm at the place with so many monsters and too little ammo, with the alien kid.
Resident Evil Revelations: I didn't even play ten minutes of this game, oops...
The Swapper: I've been playing for a few hours, and it's really good indie game, the concept is unique. At the beginning, the puzzles are kind of easy, but as you progress they get harder and harder, and I love it.
Mass Effect: To be honest, the game is a bit boring for me who's used to the second and third games, especially because my favorite character isn't there yet. I'll play to it 'till the end, though.
Saints Row IV: The game isn't performing very well on my PC, but I think I was close to the end when I stopped playing. Being able to fly is da bomb.
Burnout Paradise: This game makes me rage quit, I shit you not. I get so mad when I'm first but then I turn on the wrong street and shit hit the fan.
Mirror's Edge: I haven't played because I had other games to play at, to be honest. I got it from a Humble Bundle and played Dead Space 3 instead.
Thomas Was Alone: I played for an hour or so, then forgot about the game. I might finish it when I have time, as I don't think it's that long.
Batman: Arkham Asylum: This type of game, like DMC, tend to make me angry as hell, so I don't play for a long amount of time when I do. I began the game during this summer, but I think I was also playing VTMB and Minecraft at the time, and then Arkham Origins came out.
Batman: Arkham Origins: I began to play when it was released, but then I had school and work, and wouldn't feel like playing it when I had time. Now would be the perfect time to finish though, as it's settled on Christmas Eve.
The Wolf Among Us: I played the first episode and am waiting for the second one! It's so freaking good, I began to read the comics.
The Walking Dead: Season 2: I played the first episode as well and can't wait for the next one. The part with the dog surprised me, I wasn't expecting that for sure.
Portal 2: I played coop with my bro and decided I'd replay the solo campaign, but didn't have the time to play yet.
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura: I began to play a bit last week, and I like it so far. Like the title says, it's like steampunk fantasy or something.
Assassin's Creed III: My PC wouldn't run it really well and I grew bored of it.
Dead Island: DI:Riptide was released.
The Binding of Isaac: I never think about playing this game, so it probably means I'm not interested in it I guess.
Lone Survivor: I realized halfway I was doing everything wrong and that I had to restart a game, and it's so freaking scary I didn't want to huuhuuh.
Fallout 2: I never took the time to play, and didn't really like the gameplay to be honest, even though I know it's a classic game. I might give it a go again, because I really want to become a prostitute.
Fallout 3: I don't remember why I stopped playing, maybe because I was also playing Fallout New Vegas at the time, I don't remember.
Dracula: Love Kills: This game fucking sucks, that's why I stopped playing. It's one of those puzzle games you have to find all the items to pass a round. I was really disappointed of that sequel.
Alan Wake: My PC couldn't take it.
NeverWinter Nights 2: We grew bored of that MMORPG.
The Secret World: Again, my PC was like no-no with that game.
Rusty Hearts: We also grew bored of that MMORPG.
Dark Souls: I was so sad I wasn't able to play, but my FPS was so low the game kept closing on me.
So this is it. My 2013 gaming review. I already decided I would do the same thing for 2014. I might not have done as much reviews and articles as I would have liked, so I'll try my best for next year. There's so many games I'm anticipating, like Dragon Age Inquisition, a possible Fallout 4, Elder Scrolls Online (I'll probably weep while watching Let's play 'cause my PC will be like Nope!, but whatever), the other episodes of The Wolf Among Us and TWD Season 2 and Bioshock Infinite: Burial at Sea, Dark Souls II (Again, I'll watch from afar 'till I buy a new PC ;_;), Dreamfall chapters (even though I didn't really enjoyed Dreamfall) and The Sims fucking 4. Yeah, they've released like 25 expansions, and now that people bought them all with their firstborn child, they're like "Hey guys, we're releasing a new game which won't take any of the third game's expansions, enjoy!!" I really like you Maxis, but EA... not. The same thing happens with Bioware, which is my OTD (One True Developpers).
And so ends this first year of documenting my gaming process. I hope that 2014 will have
