Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines Review (Hop in the spoilers!)

Yup, I decided to write a review about a 2004 video game, 'cause I won't stop talk about it, and it's the game I've played the most, six playthroughs or something. Considering it's about 50 hours for one playthrough - including the side quests, I became quite the expert on that game. I just love the universe, the depth of the characters, the story; it's gore and gruesome.

Visit of my latest MC world, VTMB's pretty people and the other games I always forget (Insert spoiler alert here)

Sebastian Lacroix; S
Hey guys! Three months has passed since my last update, and boy, I played a lot of games (and I now have school, but phew, that's a detail). D: I added them on my list, and I probably forgot some games, oops. The thing is I begin a lot of games, but I forget I was playing them, and... yeah. ;) Or sometimes I just don't like them and I keep telling myself I'll play soon, but I just don't, like...

Mid-year Games Update!

It's June already! I can't believe how fast time goes by! I've decided to do a bit of an update on the games I played so far this year, but I realize I got lazy these past few weeks, I'm disappointed. I've been hooked to Minecraft for a long time now and haven't been playing any new games except for Far Cry 3, Metro: Last Light and Dracula: Origin. (And I'll do a review on FC3, only to ramble on how much Jason and the ending sucked) I really like MLL so far, it does look like the first opus, but with a lot more interactions and depth to the universe. And someone should do a count on how many times Artyom's name is said, seriously.

Sadly true in MLL. I hate these flying rat-looking demons.

Anyway, here's the link to check my games list. The Swapper and Remember Me are two games I plan on playing soon, thus the lack of status. I also have no intentions on playing Assassin's Creed III, or Saints Row 3 before the release of its fourth opus (which is in August, I believe?)

As part of the Ad infinitum games, I haven't played much of Vindictus, it was a MMORPG I played a lot more at the beginning of the year. I also stopped playing Sims 3, since I don't have the game and its expansions anymore, and I kind of hate it at the moment because I suspect it was the reason why my old External Hard Drive died. That, and it's a real bitch to install and to run with the mods.

As for the games I'm currently playing, I don't know if I'll continue Dead Island, since I've played its sequel, and... yeah, it's not that great when you're alone. Same thing goes for Lone Survivor, I've read enough on it to know I completely fucked up my playthrough, and I'd have to start again, but it's so scary. ;_; If I want the good ending I think we can't kill any monsters, so I think I might just check the endings on Youtube... I'm a chicken, I know. I still don't understand how I managed to play Silent Hill 4: The Room alone when I was 15. I mean, I watch Pewdiepie's videos and sometimes I'm so into it I scream with him. Ah, speaking of youtube videos, I discovered two weeks ago Rooster Teeth, and I believe they're like one of the first gamer channels created on Youtube? Anyway, I've been watching all of their Minecraft's Let's plays, and I really like these guys. The Let's Builds are funny too and I learn more about the traps we can do in the game. I'm currently building a village with some traps in houses, but I'm kind of failing at it because they don't work, or I'm the one getting caught by them. I need to make cool, like a cat fountain or something. I did a tower in the form of a penis though, does that count? I even made a room in the head!

Other than that, Dracula: Origin looks really cool, it's a Point-and-click, and even though I only played an hour or so and had to resolve religious puzzles, I can't wait to meet Dracula. I mean, have you seen him?

Long forgotten is the Nosferatu version of the vampire, huh? I can't say I'm complaining though, and I'm sure there's lots of fanfictions on the Van Helsing/Dracula pairing. Here, look! (Okay, it's from the bad movie, but who cares?)

So yeah, that's pretty much it. I wonder how many games I'll play before the end of this year. I'm returning to school in September, so we'll see. Cheers!

Rambling on recent games and stuff!

I haven't been really playing any new games these past few weeks, hence the lack of new review, but for the last week I've been playing Far Cry 3 like a maniac and Metro Last Light is ready to go next! I updated my chart, and I felt like talking about it randomly. FC3 is one of those games I'm telling myself I should play, but I don't for some reasons until a few months later, and then I'm hooked and can't stop playing.

But before talking more about that, I just wanted to say I lost all my data in my External Hard Drive last month, including most of my games. I then installed a few games again, including Vampires: The Masquerade - Bloodlines, but then my EHD crashed again, and I had to format everything for a second time and buy a second EHD (3 To!). I lost my fifth playthrough of VTMB, and I'm sad because I was halfway through it as a Malkavian. :( I also lost Skyrim and Fallout 3 with all the mods installed... That'll be a bitch to install again, oh my god, I'd rather not think about it. Especially since Fallout 3 crashes for no reason, depending of its mood.

Anyway. Resident Evil: Revelations was out today, and oh boy Jill is ugly in it and doesn't look the same at all than in the fifth opus. And the new companion, Parker I think, has such a big face, it's almost not normal. I  need to finish Far Cry 3 though before playing something else. I noticed I really like using the bow in any FPS games, like FC3, Tomb Raider and Skyrim. I don't know why, but shooting an arrow into my enemy's face brings me a satisfaction that a firearm never could. That and using a takedown and nobody noticing anything, especially when the guard I just killed is right beside another one. The AI intelligence in FC3 is really nice though, I'm impressed (even if it frustrates me at times too). They don't look around them like idiots when I shoot using my Sniper, they run where they think the shot came from. I'll probably do a review on the game when I'll finish it, because I really like so far (I think I'm more than halfway through it).

The blog's new background

Besides FC3, I'm playing a lot of DC Universe Online with my bro and a friend of ours. It's nice to be a superhero! I usually don't buy anything in a MMORPG, but I've been playing it for like 100 hours, so I bought a membership and got me some pretty wings. :3 I really like it because you can customize your character like you want and it doesn't cost you any real money (the membership I bought for the DLCs gave me 500 to spend in the game market as well, hence the wings, but you collect clothes styles as you play) like in Vindictus, a game I played a lot around Christmas time. No need to say my big guy is half naked most of the time, but I think people assume I'm still a guy, surprisingly enough. I mean, won't guys in games will go for a female character, usually? I don't know, at least I always go for a guy when the choice is given. Anyway, I don't really care, but my bro always have some guys after him because he's always a chick in games. That's kind of funny actually, to see him facepalm himself when someone hits on him. The amount of shit we say in MMORPGs is over 9000, let me tell you.

Look how pretty those wings are! :3

A thing I wanna say too about DCUO is that, I'm still not really used to MMORPGs, and the way DCUO works is you can level up until level 30, and then you have to upgrade your gear to get a better Combat Rating to kick more asses. I'm a Controller (or a Troller) in the game, that means I give mana to my companions while I unbuff the enemies, lowering their shield and stuff. I like to compete against other Controllers (which troller will do the most "power out"), and I can say I usually stand my ground against others. Anyway, all this explanation is because once, we were doing a Raid party to collect a better gear, and there was one other Controller. What I found really funny is that he asked me what my stats were, saying he didn't want to overwrite me. I had never checked my stats before he asked me, even though I knew what to upgrade for my class (thanks to you, bro), and I was like "uuuh, I don't know", and I discovered I had higher stats than him hahaha. XD Who's the one overwriting the other now, huh? I really like this game, my CR was of 48 at the time, and you only need 43 to be able to kill the enemies we were raid partying for, so I had time to buy better gear and skills as well. I had never understood why people were so addicted to this type of games, and now I'm hooked as well.

I'm also playing Minecraft a lot lately, I've been building a warehouse surrounded by lava and fire. I have the "Zombie Awareness" mod, so I need to be protected! I can't wait for the 1.6 update, there'll be new mobs and gear, it'll be awesome. People say it looks a lot like Terraria, and it's true, but as a big fan of Terraria myself (I mean, I named this blog after it), I can say there's some differences too, but I prefer the latter. Even though it's in 2D, it's really fun to build in T, more than in M in my opinion. I don't say I don't like to build in M, since it's one of the main things to do in the game, but there's more options in T. I once built a castle under the ocean and it was really cool. Maybe because I played more and I've been a fan for a few years now? I tried playing Minecraft last year I think, I had time to kill a cow, and then I decided I really didn't like it and simply uninstalled it, I only began to really play like three months ago. I like the fact you can add mods though in the game, I don't think we can in T, or at least I never tried.  Anyway, I'm a fan of both games for different reasons, let's stick to that!

Someone told them there was a party at my place

Lastly, I played Dead Island: Riptide with my bro and a few friends last week. It took 20 hours or so to complete it, and I have to say the story isn't great. The environment looks a lot like in the first opus, first a beach with a jungle, and then a city with the freaking sewers. I played as Logan in the first game and in Riptide, and I loved throwing stuff at zombies, or on proximity mines close to my friends mwahaha. They added the throwing knives in Riptide, but the guy who sells them die almost at the beginning and I couldn't buy any until the end, what the fuck?! Two or three sellers died in the game, while a bunch of useless characters didn't and continued to whine while we did all the work, and that's something I really didn't understand. Luckily this game is fun to play with friends, but I probably would have fallen asleep being alone.

"Miss, are you okay?!"
Now, I'm off to kill some pirates in FC3!

Bioshock Infinite Review (Spoilers shall drown you in flame)

Finally! After more than 6 years of waiting (if you forget Bioshock 2, since Ken Levine's team wasn't on it, even though it's still a good game), Bioshock Infinite has finally been released, yeah!! I've first played Bioshock when it was released, back in 2007, and I've been a huge fan of the game and the universe ever since. I rarely ever do countdown for video games, but BI was the exception. It's good I don't have a job at the moment because I got to play as much as I wanted.

Dragon Age: Origins Review (A Spoilers Blight!)

Nice tits you got there, lady.
I finally got to complete Dragon Age: Origins with all its DLCs for the third time (or was it fouth?), and my Dragon Age feelings are currently overwhelming me, so I decided to do a review on this epic, breathtaking game. I have to say, first of all, that this game introduced me to Bioware, the developpers who also created the Mass Effect serie, to name only this fabulous one, and it's Canadian (even though it's now owned by EA, which is American, but shush)! I'd probably try to work for them if I was in Montreal, that's for sure. Anyway, Dragon Age: Origins was released in 2009, and Awakening, the main expansion, the following year. With the Ultimate Edition (that means the main gain with Awakening and all the other DLCs), it took me more or less 50 hours to complete (thank you Evolve). I have to admit I'm fast (and I happen to use a few console commands...?), so it can take up to 100 hours if you prefer to take your time. I probably know every event of the game by heart now, and I play mostly for the fun of being evil or to see every possibilities the game has to offer.

DMC : Devil May Cry Review (You don't fuck with spoilers)

Okay, so I'm a big Devil May Cry fan, I've played the first, second and fourth game, and I've watched a playthrough of the third on Youtube, so close enough. Not to mention the tons of fanfiction I read and the wikia. Anyway. I know a lot about the DMC universe, that's what I wanted to say.

Resident Evil 6 Review (Spoilers ahead)

Helena is not there, but a zombie is hahahaha

I normally play on PC most my games, but since I'm at my parents' for a bit and my dad has a PS3, we decided to rent Resident Evil 6, because my brother and I knew we could complete it really fast - and that, we did. So, if you didn't know already, the game is divided in four campaigns with two protagonists per campaign: Leon and Helena (a new character), Chris and Piers (another new character), Sherry and Jake (still another new character and Wesker's son) and Ada with an unknown Agent if you play in split mode like we did (I played him and it fucking sucked because I couldn't do any action and I always had to wait for my bro).

The Walking Dead Review (Spoilers Alert, because "Review" doesn't tell it enough already)

The first game of the year (ha! pun non intended, since that game won many Game of the year awards!) I want to review is The Walking Dead, by Telltale Games. This is such an incredible game, and even if some players were annoyed of the 5-episodes concept, it just made you love even more the characters. To remind you a bit, the main plot is that you are Lee Everett, a man who is on his way to jail when he does a car accident because of a walker. He rapidly realizes something is wrong and progresses until he meets Clementine, a young girl who's waiting for her parents to come back home - but they're dead, you can figure it right away (I did anyway XD). He decides to protect the girl over his own life, and so begins an epic journey to survive in an apocalyptic world with some friendly help and some other fuckers who want to chop off your legs to eat them.

Why I hate wyverns.

Hello, dear readers, and welcome to this brand new blog that I dedicated to one of my biggest passions: Video Games. First of all, since I decided not to do a list of all the games I played so far (it'd be infinite), I wanted to write a as brief as possible summary of my knowledge of the matter and how I like my game to be.

So, yeah, I'm a girl, and I love the Sims 3, but only because I'm able to make gay couples with fairies and witches who have alien babies. I'm also a big fan of Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Bioshock (my favourite serie of all time), Resident Evil, Silent Hill, and I don't like the gameplay of the Final Fantasy serie, but I know more of Final Fantasy VII that I should - it's because of that game I now have a passion for anything that's japanese and korean.

I played (and am still playing for some) to some Indie games as well, like Binding of Isaac, Lone Survivor, Limbo, Amnesia (I still don't understand how I managed to finish that one), Terraria (more than 60 hours passed in that addicting game XD), etc. I won't be interested to play a game because of the gameplay, but more because of the plot and the story itself. Call of Duty doesn't interest me at all. I played The Longest Journey, a point-and-click, and it was epic, I highly recommend it to you, even if the graphics are fucking shitty (it has almost 15 years after all).

As I mentionned before, this blog will be about video games that I'm playing during 2013. There will be a list of them with their status, and if I liked enough a game, I will write a kind of review on it. Don't expect it to be super serious, because I like to replay Dragon Age 2 to be able to fuck Fenris and I also want to replay Mass Effect to have a romance with Thane - that sexy Drell.

And just so you know, the title of this blog comes from Terraria, in which there's wyverns in the sky after you defeat the Wall of Flesh in your world and access the Hardmode. I hate those enemies, because they're annoying as fuck when you only want to build your castle and they appear out of nowhere and kill you.

I hope you'll enjoy this blog throughout the year! ^_^
